Seattle Sports Commission: Seatown Classic a Smashing Success

SEATTLE — The Seattle Sports Commission (www.SeattleSports.org) recognized the 2012 NCAA Seatown Classic as “A Smashing Success” on the organization’s website this week.

The October 2012 game, which saw Denver upset NCAA runner-up Maryland 12 – 9, attracted 3,589 Northwest lacrosse fans to neighboring Tukwila’s Starfire Sports Complex.

Denver’s roster included former local high school standouts Cole Nordstrom (Bellevue HS) and Jack Pruitt (Skyline HS). Maryland’s roster included University Place, Wash. native Landon Carr (Curtis HS).

The game was the first NCAA Division I lacrosse game to be played in the State of Washington.
